A good translation is much more than moving text from one language to another. Rather, it requires an understanding of the underlying situation and cultural context as well as a feeling for nuances and subtext in both languages. My broad professional background and experience allow me to offer exactly that for translations from English into German and vice versa.
Editing
Even good writing can be made better by someone looking at it from the outside. A missing comma that changes the meaning of a sentence, clumsy repetition of a word, ambiguous grammar - I can fix that for you. I will work on your commercial, academic or literary texts and translations, from mere proofreading to detailed editing, according to your brief.

I am a fully bilingual English-German translator and certified language trainer with ample experience in the world of business, law and the arts.

I practiced law in Luxemburg and Frankfurt/Main before turning my language skills to more creative ventures as Publications Manager of Frankfurt International School, all the while also working as a freelance translator. In 2013, I added language training to my skillset. Since then, I have been working in companies and law firms in Frankfurt, at the Institute for Law and Finance at Frankfurt's Goethe University and at Provadis School of International Management and Technology. I also edit literary translations for the Droemer Knaur publishing house in Munich.

In my other life, I am an award-winning screenwriter - more about that here - and an active member of two English-language theatre groups in Frankfurt.
